Camp Guard

Most ripstops are made from polyester/acrylic materials and the density just changes based on the thickness of the weave. Over time, or during intense and prolonged rain, all fabrics—including ripstop—can reach their saturation limit and allow some moisture to pass through, especially at seams or under pooling water.

Camp Guard is specifically designed exactly for this kind of material that offers a more textured surface area allowing the coat to cling and dry as thick as possible. Camp guard is silicone based, so unlike an acrylic based sealant it wont “bond” with your material, it will dry into an invisible micro layer that makes the ripstop waterproof/resistant for approx. 2 years. (Depending on the quality of the application!)

We know our sealants work on ANY TEXTURED MATERIAL, including nylon and polyester tents. HOWEVER, since our compound DOES contain chemicals, we do suggest that you test a small area of the item you want to waterproof FIRST to make sure there are no side effects.

No, unfortunately shadenet has larger holes in the weave, which aren’t compatible with the viscosity of our products. HOWEVER, we are working on a new compond and hope to cater for this soon! If you’d like to be notified when this becomes available, please subscribe to our newsletter.

We suggest that a trigger spray plastic bottle be used for smaller areas, and a knapsack type pressure sprayer (usually used for weeds) for larger areas. Small items can be completely submerged and allowed to dry.

One liter covers approximately 10m2.

The quality of the end result lies in how you apply it, so we do recommend thoroughly cleaning the canvas prior to application and a double application on seams.
